Bus Trip to STITCHES Midwest

    • Nautical Yarn is coordinating a bus trip to Stitches Midwest.
      To register for bus transportation, or if you have questions, please call Nautical Yarn at 231-845-9868 by August 15th, 2010.

    This summer we have scheduled several very interesting classes at Nautical Yarn.
    • Wednesday, July 21 - Swirl Shawl
      • Swirl Scarf or Shawl (Intermediate)
        On Wednesday, July 21, Pam McCallum will teach the Swirl Scarf or Shawl from JoJoLand from 6 PM until 9 PM. ($10.00)
        Note the time change for this class.  It was originally scheduled for 1 - 4 PM.
        • Description: Learn to make this beautiful, modular scarf or shawl from JoJoLand. Come in to Nautical Yarn and see a beautiful example.
        • Supplies: Double-point needles and Melody yarn and Swirl Shawl pattern
        • Homework: None

    • Saturday, July 24 - 10 AM until Noon
      • Magical Mystery Shawl (or Scarf) - $5.00
        This year our Second Annual Camp for KIDS is scheduled for the week of July 26 through 30 from 10:00 AM until noon each day. The boys and girls who attend will learn to knit, weave, braid, felt...and more. All supplies will be provided and are included in the $35 fee. Our great teachers from last year are returning; Liz Donakowski, Marilyn Raymond, and Pam McCallum. Call Nautical Yarn at 845-9868 to register by July 23rd.
        • Description: Learn to make this beautiful scarf or shawl from one skein of sock yarn. Come in to Nautical Yarn and see a beautiful example.
        • Supplies: Size 5 - 7 Needles and 440 yards of sock yarn
        • Homework: None

    • Monday, July 26 - Friday, July 30
      • Kid's Camp (Beginner)

      • Latvian Mittens - $10.00
        On Wednesday, August 11, Carole will teach you how to knit beautiful, colorful Latvian Mittens.
        • Description: Learn to make beautiful, colorful Latvian mittens with decorative cuffs, overall patterns in your choice of colors, and "invisible" thumbs
        • Supplies: Size 2 - 5 Needles (depending on weight of yarn you choose) and 3 colors of yarn (Size 2-Sock, 3-DK, or 4-Worsted)
        • Homework: None

    • Saturday, August 14 & 21 from 10 until Noon
      • Fredy's Bag - $TBA
        On Saturday, August 14 and 21, Fredy will teach you how to knit a beautiful, colorful bag with hexagonal bottom.
        Skill Level: You should know how to knit using two colors (Fair Isle or Stranded Knitting technique).
        • Description: Learn to make beautiful, colorful "Fredy" bag.

    • Saturday, August 14 from 1 until 4 PM
      • Lace Kntting - Part 2
        On Saturday, August 14, we will learn several techniques including kitchener stitch, knit-on borders, lace circles, and more.

    • Saturday, August 28 from 10 until Noon
      • Shoulder Cozy - $10.00
        On Saturday, August 28, Laurel McCann will teach you how to knit a "Shoulder Cozy". This wrap is easy and fits all sizes like a glove.
        Skill Level: Beginner
        • Supplies: Needles and Yarn for wrap (Tonalite or Minestrone from Trendsetter are good choices.)
        • Homework: None

    • Saturday, August 28 from 1 until 4 PM
      • Baby Surprise Jacket - $15.00
        On Saturday, August 28, Carole will teach you the tricks and tips to knit the classic "Baby Surprise Jacket" View Yarn Harlot's take on the Baby Surprise.. This jacket is easy especially if you have a few tricks up your sleeve (if you know what I mean).
        Skill Level: Beginner
        • Supplies: Worsted weight yarn and needles that work with your yarn. Striping yarn works well
        • Homework: None
