Knitter's "Boot Camp"

FEE: $5 for all 12 months or $50 is paid by 12/21/2012
DESCRIPTION: Knitter’s and Crocheter’s Boot Camps are designed for any level of knitter or crocheter. This sequence of classes is designed to improve your knowledge of knitting/crocheting and expand your horizons. Bootcamp classes are $5 each or $50 for the year when paid by January 21, 2012. The Staff of Nautical Yarn will be teaching the classes. We believe that any level of knitter and crocheter can learn new, improved, and/or different techniques. We hope you find the Boot Camp series interesting and helpful. We are limiting the number of participants to 15 to insure a quality experience for each participant, so sign up soon. During each Boot Camp class techniques will be taught that can be used to complete a small project.

Basic Stitch Patterns Stockinette, Reverse Stockinette, Garter, Seed, Ribbing
February 18 –
All About Fiber Yarn weights, brands, fibers, yarn selection and substitution
March 17 –
Make It Fit Sizing, gauge, pattern adjustment
April 21 –
Tools and Terminology and Basic Fix-Its You Must Know Reading your stitches, TINKING, picking up dropped stitches
May 19 –
Knitting Symbols, Pattern and Chart Reading Learn the fine points of patterns and charts
June 16 –
Color Knitting I Changing colors, Making butterflies, Two-handed Fair Isle
July 21 –
Cast On, Bind Off Crochet Chain cast on, Judy’s Magic Cast On, Picot Cast On and Picot Bind Off, Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off
August 18 –
Cables Cable Basics, read cable charts, work cable without a cable needle
September 15 –
Increase and Decrease Make One Increases, Grandma Increases, Full-fashion increases and decreases, knit two together, slip-slip-knit, mirrored increases and decreases and more
October 20 –
Color Knitting II Intarsia and Slip Stitch Patterning with Mosiac Knitting techniques
November 17 –
Finishing Basics Make your knitted project look ―"hand-made" not ―"home made"
