Crocheter's "Boot Camp"

DESCRIPTION: Knitter’s and Crocheter’s Boot Camps are designed for any level of knitter or crocheter. This sequence of classes is designed to improve your knowledge of knitting/crocheting and expand your horizons. Bootcamp classes are $5 each or $50 for the year when paid by January 21, 2012. The Staff of Nautical Yarn will be teaching the classes. We believe that any level of knitter and crocheter can learn new, improved, and/or different techniques. We hope you find the Boot Camp series interesting and helpful. We are limiting the number of participants to 15 to insure a quality experience for each participant, so sign up soon. During each Boot Camp class techniques will be taught that can be used to complete a small project.

January 21 - Crochet for Knitters Learn slip stitch, chain, single crochet, and crocheting onto a knit project, how to crochet a picot edging and how to seam with crochet.

February 18 – Basic Crochet Stitches Single Crochet, Double Crochet, Half Double Crochet, Treble Crochet, and Shell Stitch Project: Lace Coaster

March 17 – Crochet without a Foundation Chain

April 21 – Tunisian Crochet I Learn the base row, Tunisian Simple Stitch, Tunisian Double Crochet Project: Easy crochet potholders.

May 19 – Broomstick Lace Learn to make quick, easy broomstick lace.  Project: A beautiful Broomstick Lace scarf.

June 16 – Tunisian Crochet II Learn Tunisian Purl Stitch, Diagonal Stitch, Changing Colors Project: Striped crochet bag

July 21 - Granny Square (and Not So Square) Learn the basic Granny Square, how to join them together, how to join as you go, & more!

August 18 – Fair Isle Crochet Learn to make crocheted designs with more than one color of yarn.

September 15 - Post Stitch Magic Learn the front post and back post stitches and when to use each.  Project: Easy crochet hat

October 20 – Crochet a Circle Learn to crochet a circle, a spiral, an oval.  Project: Make a great looking Flower Shaped Potholder or Trivet in this class.

November 17 - Chart Reading Chart reading is fun and easy and this class will teach you to read (and create) crochet charts.

December 15 – Crochet Boot Camp Retrospective Q & A, Tricks and Tips from ―Bootees‖, Fashion Show and Luncheon
